Yeccchhh ....

Absolutely obscene ....

I H-A-T-E it.

HATE. IT.

And Steve was so non-ostentatious with everything else.

Who would skipper this monstosity, him?!?

Too big for a family vessel -- it's primary use.

For entertaining, you could charter a smaller, private cruiseship -- which this - this thing is the size of.

If I had that kind of dough, I'd get a nice size boat, sure -- but nothing nowhere like this ....

Automatic glass doors?

On a ship?

IN THE FRONT?!?

Really???

FAIL.

The MacBoat Pro: Comes with faster engines and larger cargo space, and a boat anchor.
The MacBoat Shuffle: No window anywhere on the boat. Goes in random directions.
The MacBoat Touch: The windows are all touch screens (that's not such a bad idea actually...)

It looks rather top-heavy. Really not a fan of this boat from a design point-of-view, but then I'm more a fan of boats that have curves. This is just a giant, emotionless wedge in the water.

People complaining about the workers getting an iPod Shuffle: They did also get PAID you know, anything extra is out of the generosity of the Jobs family.

Yeah, like the Jobs family couldn't get access to prototypes.
Given Apple's penchant for secrecy, I doubt Steve Jobs's survivors have access to prototypes. Those must be early production units. EDIT: I recall reading that Woz said an Apple employee was fired for showing him a prototype iPhone.
I hope it will still be enjoyed by the Jobs family.
If they refuse to get rid of it for sentimental reasons, it could become a white elephant.
Nice yacht with new iMacs. Unfortunately Steve did not get to enjoy it before he passed out :(
If only he had simply passed out!

This USS Monitor-like monolith is woefully lacking software-- the counterpointive biomorphic underbelly invoking fluid dynamics. See: porpoise.

Too much faddish architectonic control here, not enough sea charisma to be a classic. Awaiting refresh.

I'm glad that it finished, I would love to see that in person! And look at all the small exterior and interior details. It would probably be the "ugliest" thing seen by many. Like anything, everything first designed will definitely not be perfect, however over time it will be improved and become standard. And everyone will soon emulate and (try to) adapt the same design principles. Eg MacBook Pro. I'm sure Steve would have went after the car industry as well if he was alive..

The thing is...the boat doesn't look like a boat at all. I'd take the QE2 over this any day.

It's a beautiful boat and I think Steve would have loved it. Certainly, he spent some time overseeing the plans before his death.

By the way, some of "the wealthy should give their money away" nonsense in here is disgusting. He employed several thousand people and helped create industries. If that's not helping people I don't know what is. Your armchair, helping no one but yourself stuff is not better that what the people who make the world turn are achieving. You don't get off easy because you chose not to work as hard/smart or to do something there's less demand for. Because that's how wealth is created. If you are one of a kind you'll make a ton of money. If you're one of many you'll be paid accordingly. And it couldn't be fairer. There are few people capable of being top level CEOs and there are billions of people who are capable of working at Foxconn. In this world you are paid according to your rarity and ability to create wealth for others.

It's a nice looking yacht. Too bad nobody will see it, becuase as you all know the first thing you do when it arrives is stick it in a bulky case and slap on a screen protector.

Breathtakingly ugly. A couple of people didn't understand what yachting is all about.

Oops... Looks like I hit a sensitive nerve.

Fact:
The massive increase in APPL stock value vs the price I paid to buy more year after year from 1991 forward, has already made me a staggering amount.

Fact:
I've done more philanthropy work that that man ever though of.

Fact:
Stating my views on the prior CEO's greed doesn't mean I don't respect his obvious accomplishments. There's a big difference.

Lookup the word "assumption" and you'll understand where you went wrong.

Well that is sure ironic. Because you 100% know he didn't donate to any charities anonymously.

Man that's one UGLY thing! He should have let Ive's design it... and as for the Macs in the wheel house, showing off or what?

So is it sold on then? Or is Steve's family getting it?

I don't know, I find superyachts pretty much the most obscene way to display greed, I believe they are what? 1 million per meter or thereabouts. Disgusting display of sheer money. They help to display modern capitalism at it's very best.

Meh I would rather have one nice house, some nice cars and good health and family.
