Woz basically just slammed Boot Camp (the comment he made about beta software). I mean thats the most significant thing Apple has out thats in Beta, right?

No. First of all, his comments were made before he or any of us were aware of Boot Camp. Also, if you listen to his interwviews, he has no interest in slamming Apple on any front, and tries not to say anything which could be construed as such, regardless of context. I've heard him make the statement about beta before, and he seems to mean just what he says, no more and no less.

exmacuser,
In some ways I do agree with you.
The "old" Apple feeling (i.e. Mac superiority during DOS/Win3.11-period, users driving around in 2 CV's, etc.) has gone now, and Steve has brought Apple right into the heat of the IT-war.
But...
Like it or not, the world of computing has changed, and Apple had to adapt to simply stay alive. Classic Mac OS was not up to it, and Apple's worsening name in hardware quality had to be saved.
What could Apple do?
Bring a great modern OS, invent some kind of killer-piece-of-hardware to make the Apple brand name "cool" again, and begin selling cheaper computers to be able to compete with the WinTels.
Well, that is excatly what Steve did.
Yep, Apple has gone for the big bucks. But they had to.

And, IMHO a Mac still is a Mac. Even with its x86 hardware inside, you can instantaneously recognize a Mac, and a Mac is still the only computer on which you can run Mac OS legally. The "it just works" feeling is still there, and I bet that still nearly every Mac owner is actually proud of being one.
