I’ve had stickers on my M1 space grey Air since I got it a bit over two years ago now. My mother just got herself a space grey M1 Air this past weekend and when I was setting it up for her, I took the opportunity to compare the colors and noted that mine was a tad faded compared to hers so I’d imagine that there are some lovely dark shadows lurking under those stickers now. No matter though, this is my laptop and I plan on using it for years to come in my classroom and I quite like my stickers :)

Hey all. Quick question I haven't seen addressed in the threads about the midnight MacBook Air and it's propensity to fingerprints. I usually put stickers on my laptops, done it since I was in uni, and with aluminum MacBooks they always come right up with some thermal encouragement, goo gone to remove the residue, and a Windex wipe down, good as new.

I'm wondering if the same can be said for the midnight MBA, if it's surface is as resilient as the aluminum machines. I'm thinking about getting a clamshell hardcase for the machine and putting stickers on that instead, but was just curious if anyone had solid info on the pros/cons of the new machines when it came to stickers. What would damage the surface, etc.
If you want stickers on it you should.... nothing wrong with personalizing. It's not my thing but when people say that you shouldn't put stickers on your expensive mac tell them to say that to all the people that put stickers on their 30-90k car ;)

I have a very expensive JEEP and it has a few stickers on it...

There's two types of sticker-users

1. People who like to personalize the look and aesthetic of their belongings

2. People who are advertising their tribe, or purposefully trying to force viewers into a political or ideological discussion, in their head, when all they're trying to do is find peace and mindfulness after a long, stressful day, and get home to their family.

While stickers aren't for me, I can respect #1.

If you think #2 is ok, remember how annoying it is to see trucks like this.

I get that some people need visual stimulation, but forcing visual stimulation on other people I think is (mildly) the wrong way to treat others. It's being "loud." I don't think this matters for laptop stickers, but I think sticker people should be mindful if they are being #1 or #2.
