Wondering if anyone has/had stickers on their 2016/2017 MacBook Pro?

Ive heard stories of stains on space grey iPhones / 12" MacBooks and was just wondering what peoples experiences are on the new machines and if they might differ.

I hate hard cases so putting one on and then sticking it on that isnt an option.

Thank you in advance

I'm about to get my first macbooks 2017 w/ Touchbar tomorrow.

I've always thought it was neat to have stickers on a mac to show your own personality but i question if they would ruin the laptop.

What i am doing is i bought the Carbon Fiber skin off dbrand.com which i have seen leaves no residue and planning on adding stickers to that.

Ended up doing the same. Ordered the matte black dbrand skin and will put them on there. Thinking about it now, I wish they offered a translucent option

I was going to go with the matte black option but my brother has a matte pc laptop and the oil from his skin leaves finger print on his laptop.

a second option was going with a clear case but I've been reading on how they scratch the corners of the MBP.

I never got the sticker thing, but I am too worried about resale value or giving it away later.

that's is why i just plan on adding stickers to the skin rather then to the mac itself. it's easier to removed a skin then each sticker individually. Also stickers that aren't vinyl will more then likely leave residue

Good idea. It seems like with this material the stickers will leave a dark spot as the oils or adhesives penetrate the coating.

At work we use cases on our iPhones that have the little cutout for the Apple logo and after removing a case you can usually see a circle where the cutout was.
It’s either wear or maybe UV exposure but the anodizing just doesn’t hold up the same in the exposed vs the unexposed areas.
A sticker might do the same.
Even if it didn’t directly effect the anodizing, the wear/exposure of the protected area vs unprotected areas could be very obvious once the sticker was removed.

This is true. Just like removing the decals from a car or truck. Even if the car is 6 months old, chances are the paint has faded making the under decal area look darker.

I always have a few stickers on my MacBooks. I sold my 12" Space grey last year and when I removed the stickers there wasn't any visible indications they were there. Also, I recently took my 15" Space Grey MacBook Pro in to possibly get the display replaced, before taking in I removed the stickers that have been on it since November 2016, again no visible signs of stickers.

Resales value??? Is 40-50% off at least after 2-3 years. So what about the old decal will depreciated more? Is your machine just do it what you want.

Has anyone found a good clear skin? I hate hard shell cases, but would like to have some protection against every day scratches. The carbon fiber looks cool, but it's not my thing. Any suggestions?
