STILL a long-arsed line in front of the Lincoln Road Apple Store

People are STILL lining up in Miami Beach! I'm a bit boggled by this; I figured everyone who wanted an iPhone 6 should have one by now. But not only was there a line, but it was about three times as long as the line was when I bought mine the Saturday after release day!

WTF is going on? It's been two freaking weeks.
 
They've still got 3-4 more weeks before supply can match with demand. Here in Chicago, there is still no stock on the 6. Apple app is telling me I have to go to Grand Rapids, MI to get one.

Edit: I take that back - just checked the app and it appears 3 stores have stock. Not sure how long it will last. I still think we're a ways off from being able to casually walk in to an apple store or carrier and get stock.

Same thing here in Palm beach. I was luck during the week to score my 2.

People just cry for :apple: products. So they queue up and get them.
 
Last year a week before Christmas I was able walk into an apple store and buy a 5s gold with no line and no wait.

It may be another month until supply is greater than demand.

I can confirm the Chicago stock has been steady for quite a while. They must of got a decent shipment.

Even though the Chinese launch is happening on the 17th, demand in the USA will continue to go down daily while supplies are (probably) remaining the same..

It's the same in Aventura. Dadeland mall. The falls. That's Apple for ya

Which variation have you been checking? This whole week, I've been checking the space gray, 16GB iPhone 6 unlocked (t mobile.) They're constantly out.

And, since I had posted this morning, all stores in the state of Illinois are back to being sold out. It's a trip to Indiana or Michigan again if you want one.

So it looks like the strategy is to be the early bird still.
 
I haven't had any luck finding a 64GB space gray 6 plus from either AT&T or Verizon locally.

I bought the iPhone 4s and then the 5 in the Garden.
 
It took all my self restraint to not yell out "BE CAREFUL IT BENDS!!" to the people waiting in line as I biked by.

But my civilized side won. Awww.

All last night they were in the store, I just checked now and they're out again, looks like it's just luck of the draw.. I was talking about the Plus models too for Verizon. Sorry should of specified. I am not sure about other carriers.
 
It is mind blowing that people are still lining up at the chance to buy an iphone. It is a mass produced item, patience is a virtue.

I could understand the lines if it was a limited release item.

Ya I'm the type that will pre order for day 1 or just wait till I can walk in and buy a phone lol

Ya. Busiest Apple Store I've seen in a daily basis here in FL. I've been there at opening a couple times since launch day and there were people waiting but nothing like the OP is describing.

Same here. Been shopping that store since the original iPhone and white clamshell MacBooks.
 
Any updates on the situation in stores the last week?

I am visiting Florida from Norway for 8 days from this Friday. I will be in Miami Beach (staying at South Beach) from Saturday evening to Tuesday morning. Looking to buy a contract-free iPhone 6 Plus 64 GB (not decided on colour yet) as it is considerably cheaper in the US than here in Norway. Is it likely that this model will be in store (preferably Lincoln Road) while I am there? Or any iPhone 6 at all?

It looks like availability is very sporadic, with Gold seeming to be the best chance of availability. Today for instance, some Apple stores in the Miami Beach area have a Gold 64GB unlocked iPhone 6 available for pickup. No other colors though.

Lincoln Road, however, is sold out of everything.

When get here, be sure to check the site online. Order online for store pickup if you can. This will help you avoid headaches, as the likelihood of just walking in unannounced and getting an iPhone 6 is very slim.
