Marketing is a lot of psychology, if you feel better buying a more expensive device if it has "Pro" in the name then you're more likely to choose it over the - possibly, not always - perfectly sufficient cheaper option.

For longevity I tend to buy the higher end machines and it's worked out (particularly for family members who inherit).

But the point being....bloody font management. The Mac has this absolutely sorted. Where's Font book on the iPad!

Highly subjective use of the vernacular “perfectly sufficient cheaper option” mainly due to you don’t know how I use my iPad.

Here we are in 2026 and the way to install new fonts is to download a separate app,...on an iPad Pro.

I mean, what's the point in putting Pro at the end of the name if we can't even have font management built in. (Thank goodness for iFont)
Hahaha, same here 😅

It’s honestly annoying… you’d expect something called “Pro” to handle basic stuff like fonts without jumping through hoops.

At this point I just don’t bother anymore, whenever I need something quick I use font generator tools and copy-paste… way less headache than dealing with apps and installs.

IFont has been a lifesaver for me. But font management is a bit pants in macOS and disastrous in iPadOS/iphoneOS.

And are there even fonts in visionOS?
