Imlove the extremly polished stainless steel band, I was really dedicated to buy my first white iPhone, but this X is all over the place. Black camera insert on the white back, black front bezel next to the polished stainless band. It’s all over the place, it’s not the refined, unified design I was expecting.
Instead I went with the grey. It’s much less attractive as an all white would have been, but it has a nice understated classic look to it that I like.
I do hope the (micro-)scratching on the physical vapor deposited layer isn’t going to be too bad. Apple hasn’t said what PVD they have used, so it can be anything from a DLC to a TiN and the hundreds if not thousands different treatments there are today.

Took a Screenshot from the video of them side by side. I think the Silver really stands out

Like s sore thumb :p
No serious, don’t you mind the black camera insert?
Or the black front? It’s not a white iPhone, it’s a black, chrome and some white left iPhone...
[doublepost=1509438647][/doublepost]And that picture doesn’t do the grey right

As most people will put in a case for everyday use, either finish is not a big deal, as both have black faces.

Went for Silver with its classy look, but it doesn’t matter when I will be using a dual layer case.

How is the camera any different than the others on white/silver phones?

If the front was white, it would be quite ugly and most people wouldn’t like it (judging by the other thread).

On the 4s I liked the white a lot and always felt a bit sad I didn’t choose the white version.
Yes it had a black camera, but it was one round blueish black hole. At the X it is so much bigger.
Just look at the 4s:

But I do understand your point about the front being black edged as it is, it would look oddish when the screen is off/black and the tiny rim is white.
All in all the white design has so many compromises, so I’m still happy with my choice!
(And I certainly expect & hope others to be happy with theirs, be it grey, white, purple or whatnot ;) !)

Space gray makes the notch stand out more IMO. I don't hate the notch but for those who do...just saying.

Glad I went with silver. That space gray will show scratches way more, even around the band if it happens and you can't polish them off.

They both look great. I went silver. Love the style and the stainless steel band. Really tired of darker colors.

Same here. I'm glad I made the jump to the silver after so many "black" phones. I'd prefer a brushed metal band for hiding scratches, but I'll take it as it is...in about two months when it ships. LOL!

It does look great, but if you'll be putting a case on the phone, will the color actually matter.

I've always put a case on my iPhones to protect it, and I would assume with the iPhone 8 and the X with rear glass, the need for extra protection is even higher.

Space grey all the way.

Also, love the way that his hand has been repositioned to make it look like he pulled the control centre down with ease. Then in the next shot his hand is all the way down the bottom, where your hand would naturally be. The control centre from the top will not be easy to use but even in videos like these, they hide it.

EDIT: Seems as though the iPhone X still has reachability, thats brilliant news.

Agreed...at least you can polish off the scratches. Coming from a matte black 7+ you can't do a damn thing when it gets scratched. And I've seen JB 7+'s with scratches...yikes.

I don't think it's worth arguing which color is better, most people will be more than happy with either arriving anytime soon (even if the silver is the classier color while the SG is dull) lol

Yes it does matter for me at least, I am using a high quality crystal glass case which is completely see through and very thin. However, I may end up switching cases. After seeing the cost for an out of warranty repair on this phone (I'm not buying AC+ at the moment), if the case and glass screen protector don't hold i'll be SOL.

The space grey back on the X is the same color as the one on the 8/8+ and when I saw that color in person, under light, I was like yuck. Terrible.

Should have been space black.

I'm thinking if only it was "Jet Black" with that OLED Screen
I don't care about the potential scratches, that thing would look stunning!

Still, given the current options, very happy I chose the Silver/White.

I don't think so actually. You can tell the silver and space grey are slightly different. I agree though, the 8+ Space grey looks absolutely awful, I was pretty disappointed when i saw it. I don't get Apple; at this point, you're finally using glass, make the phone jet black and you won't have to deal with the scratch issue, and its the color that everyone wants. I'm sure they are keeping red/jet black/gold versions that will be released in march next year.

I doubt they'll release other versions of this phone. They have to move on to developing the Plus sized version of this phone next year...which I'll get too...obviously lol

I think you should go with the silver. I like black phones and I initially was going to go with the space grey. But after looking at it, I realize it's not black enough. It would look sleek if it was a deep black but the space grey looks washed out to me.

Am about to look at my JB 7 Plus again. Have not seen it for a year. Was inside a case.:D
Not big deal, unlike most people on here, I tend to look at front of phone more anyway. More action there, back is sooooo boring after a few hours.

Both look great but I have had 4 white phones and so its Space Grey for me. I think the SS bands are too shiny on Silver phone and will scratch very easily like the old Ipods.
Plus I have a white Ipad Pro, White Merc, white S3 Ceramic with Nike White/Black sports band so Space Grey will top off the dark/white storm trooper two tone colour for my boys toys collection.

They both look great. I’m still happy with my choice of Silver. I alternate between the two colors each time.
