Still December. Should I cancel or wait?

I was one of the ones who WAS UP ALL NIGHT AND HAD THE APP NOT LOAD UP FOR OVER 15 MINUTES AND GOT A DELIVERY DATE OF DECEMBER. Anyway, this isn't about my luck but about my next options. The "new" delivery dates are FASTER THAN MY PREORDER DELIVERY DATE and I found an X available for pickup at a local Apple Store. The only issue is that I am on AT&T Next for the first time and apparently it will take a couple of days to stop the "Order in Process" action and cancel it out. I DO NOT want to risk the dates but December is ****ing ridiculous when everyone and their dog seems to be able to get it easier than my ass who pre-ordered it at 3:25am.

They are readily available everywhere. Cancel the preorder. No need to wait. Apparently the Apple store replenishes stock at 3 a.m. so you can order then if you want one. Heck, I can still get one right now for store pick up in my area.

I wouldn’t worry. The availability will only increase at this point. It is not as sought after as Apple wanted us all to believe.

It won’t let you do that bc your existing online order is attached to that number probably. Have to cancel. Wait a few minutes then order the new pickup order.

hmmm...maybe they just ramped up their production to meet the demand. Based on recent figures, i'd say it is pretty well sought after.

Cancel and pick up. I did this last year with my 7 Plus. Call ATT and they can reset your Next eligibility in about 5 minutes and buy in Apple store on Next.

Do it right in store once the Apple associate pulls the phone from the back to make sure one is ready in hand in stock (they are nice, they will help someone else while you call ATT and hold the phone out of their stock ready for you).

as soon as I was on the phone to cancel the phone I was informed it was not available for pickup anymore from 12 nearby stores. So now i'm crying.

You’ll most likely be able to get one within the next 7 days just make sure you do it first thing in the coming days

"C'mon man." I even said dont do it until you're in store to make sure they have one.

Apple stores are getting stock daily though. Check on their site early morning and reserve one (I think 5am?) I SERIOUSLY doubt it will take you more than a week to find one

It literally is just a phone. Either wait, or see if you can buy one locally then cancel it. Me? I walked past countless phone shops today and didn't bother asking any of them. Mine will arrive whenever it arrives in the next two weeks, and that's fine. Functionally there's nothing I will do day-to-day with my X that I can't do with my SE right now.
