Hi Forum,

I biught an Imac 20" 2.0 in Feb. of 2008. So far it has worked like a charm. I have done all the software updates except for the EFI Firmware Update. I am a bit nervouse about doing it. Do I really need it if my computer is running top notch?

In my experience EFI updates have made my MBP (running top-notch) even more so. I install them without a second thought (making sure to read the directions - updating the EFI on an Intel Mac is a bit different from most other updates).

That said, a few people have experienced issues after updating their EFI, but these are a tiny minority.

If you do apply the EFI firmware update, follow the instructions EXACTLY.

But, I'm an old computer hardware tech and go by the premise "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Sorry wrldwzrd89, I'm not trying to step on your toes. This is just my opinion from experience. You and others may disagree, which is alright.
