After the latest Security Update 2020-005 and Supplemental Update (Safari 14.0). I mean I’ve reinstalled Mojave and applied the correct updates (not the previous broken ones) and saw a couple of remaining errors in my logs. Two iMacs running Mojave 10.14.6 BTW.

I didn't noticed at first but still seeing these in the system log ("One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined."):

Code:

Problems or not in the long run?

Thanks,

Patrice

**Thinking about uninstalling Safari 14 and reinstalling 13.1.2. Before someone asks, yes it can be done (AppCleaner and reinstall via Pacifist).

Doesn't look in any way related to Safari.

But, also probably just a log comment, reporting about an unusual condition.
From what I can find out, I think it's probably a programmer's choice to allow for (in this case) differences between system-provided libraries.
Not really an error of any kind, just a report that Apple considers something that should be reported for various reasons.
( I am also running Mojave with final updates, and I probably have hundreds of those same kind of statements, "One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined", littered throughout the system.log.
Maybe a coder/programmer will offer an actual educated opinion about that (not me!), but I don't think it looks like anything important, unless you are actually having problems with CoreSpeech, and need to send a log to Apple, or another developer to help with troubleshooting.
Bottom line, I don't think it is an error of any kind, just an ordinary log item, one of hundreds like it.

Thanks,

I thought at first that it was necessarily a bad thing as there were a lot more of these in the messed up release of Sec Update 2020-005 and the first problematic Safari 14 back in September.

Feels better now...

Patrice

And, Mojave, in general, is working much better now, than a couple of months ago.
Who knows? there could still be some issues with Mojave, but Apple seemed to have noticed, and made some attempt at helping out. (I must have reinstalled Mojave at least twice per week during that time, which seemed to help for a few days, then reinstall again. I haven't reinstalled Mojave for about a month now, which is actually unusual for me to go that long. But, it's my hobby;) ) Maybe it will be better now, and I shouldn't look for trouble, where none currently exists...

Yes, me too. At least 3 or 4 reinstall on top followed by Security Updates in September. Glad that I have two sets of backups, TM and Carbon Copy Cloner.
But even with those backups, I had to wipe my main user account on one of my machine (my fault, bad manipulation of system files that ended... on the backups!!!). I had to copy each folders, plist, preference files, etc... from my backups to a new user account. It’s an hobby for me too and all my pics and important docs do not resides on my main SSD...
