Sure could use an app to record my calls here in Japan. I used to be able to record calls at the click of a button on my 2007 phone and use the audio for studying. Unfortunately I can't do it on an iPhone in 2011.

I've seen those apps that work via online services in the US but no thanks. They wouldn't work here anyway.

    Any ideas?

iPhone Apps (from the App Store) do not have access to calls made and therefore cannot intercept (and record) the conversation.

Not to mention I believe it is illegal in a lot of countries to record a conversation without the permission of the other user.

Apparently not in Japan because many phones can do it. SoftBank Japan bans the muting of iPhone shutter sound so going the other way, country specific apps should be allowed.
