Please forgive me for my rant, but I can't believe ios 26.1 still don't have the Double tap to lock or turn off the Display without having that small circle on the Display which is quite annoying and that's the only option to do so.

I think OP means the only way to go to the lock screen by double tapping is through AssistiveTouch, which puts the AT target circle on the screen.

Huh, what use case is that? Why not just ... press the power button?

In addition to the above it's also not really true. You can create a shortcut that locks the phone which can be triggered in various ways. Back Tap can do it as well.
