I have my texts set to delete after thirty days in my phone. I just assumed it would do the same in the Watch. Not that this is the same thing but it seems like it should work for me. I used to have multiple GB texts threads. Now I'm st around 400mb. Works for me.

I would do this too but I have a strange desire to save all my text history. I sometimes look through it to reminisce or find old information I need.

The messages app indeed blows up over time so I got around it by using iBackupBot to remove the attachments while keeping the text information.

I used to but I realized it wasn't worth it. If I see something important I'll either take note of it or, in the rare case I need "evidence" I can just do screenshots (this has never happened). I get way too many picture messages from friends and family to really want to deal with weeding things out. I save things to camera roll if I particsuly love them and from there they get shot to Flickr seamlessly. I'll also do a picture/video backup to a hard drive once every couple of months.

Works for me :)
