I have the Series 6 and just received the Ultra. I listen to podcasts regularly and was hoping the Ultra would finally allow podcasts (or even music) to be heard through the Watch speaker. I saw an ad for Apple Watch Amazon Podcast where it says it can be heard through the speaker...but what about the default Apple podcast?

Anyone know if it's possible to use the Watch speaker for podcasts?

The battery hit from the larger speaker would no doubt be massive. Yes, the Ultra battery is much more capable than standard Apple Watch but it’s still a big hit.

That said, I agree with you that it would be nice for certain situations.

Completely understand the reason, but it should be an option for the users. Even with my Series 6 I could go almost 1.5 days. If i want to use the speaker and use the battery it should be an option. With the Ultra lasting almost 2.5 to 3 days on normal use, if someone regularly charges their Watch every night using the speaker wouldn't be an issue.

Try "Onlurn" for the Apple Watch -- that app can do it.
