I was hoping IOS 8 would include the ability to press one key, select all the mail in the inbox, and then either delete it all with the touch of another key or send it to storage or somewhere.

But I haven't found anything like that.

Is it there or do I have to wait for a new Jailbreak?

Been looking for that for YEARS (select all/delete or archive all). No idea why it never happened. I've been using BOXER which is the only one of a number of email apps that I have tried that has that feature.

I was underwhelmed by BOXER. I wonder why the feature I mentioned is, as far as I can tell, still unimplemented.

While I personally don't see a scenario where I would want to blanketly delete every email in my inbox, I do agree it would be nice to at least have the option. Apple does however allow you to do a delete all in the junk mail folder. I guess Apple considers a delete all an impractical feature for the inbox.

Because there would be more people crying and complaining they "accidentally" deleted ALL of their emails by pushing 1 simple button (which would likely have a second confirmation of ARE YOU SURE?) than those that would want or even benefit from this addition.

Every time they add/remove something to anything in iOS there is always a huge group of babies crying over it.

Actually I use it to "archive" (not delete) dozens of emails every hour in 7 gmail accounts. This way they are always available from my computer. SELECT ALL, then SWIPE RIGHT and they are all archived (sent to gmail "ALL MAIL") in one swell foop. :)

With BOXER you can't accidentally delete all because they give you "XX" (your settings) seconds to "undelete" or "unarchive." Boxer has a lot of great mail control features. You have to get used to it. That being said, I don't delete anything, I just "archive" groups of messages across 7 gmail accounts. Rather than having 12000 messages on my phone I only have 1 -> whatever. Select all & swipe to archive all (obviously archive only works with Gmail which is all I use).

I'd use it

I use my MacBook pro to store my emails, and my iPad to check my emails when I'm out of the house. I'd love to quickly delete all the emails on my iPad.
