Canada Eh?
I'm currently running macOS 10.14.6 (18G95), and a couple weeks back Software Update notified me that the Supplemental Update 2 was available. I tried downloading and installing it from there, and while it goes through the motions of downloading it and rebooting, once done it tells me the update is still available? I tried this a number of times but no luck. I posted on the Apple support page and someone gave me the direct link for the update, so I tried that but no luck. Then it was suggested to go into Safe mode and try it there...I tried both through Software Update and downloading directly, but again no go. The most recent suggestion was to try removing the "Install macOS Mojave" app (version 14.6.06) from the Applications folder and installing it from an alternate drive, but this also didn't work.
This version of Mojave that I'm presently running was a clean install onto a brand new NVMe drive just under two months ago. Any other suggestions on how I can perform this update? Thanks!

PS I'm not sure why my title isn't in boldface when everyone else's is, even though I hit the big 'B' before typing it?? lol

No need to be frustrated in this task...
I would download the current full installer (and it sounds like you already have that in your Applications folder), create a bootable installer on a flash drive or a partition on an external USB drive.
Boot to that, reinstall Mojave. The current install would include the supplemental update, and (if there is a system software issue that is contributing to your situation) the reinstall would do some pruning on your existing system to make sure that everything is installed, and installed in the right location.
Make sure that no other external storage devices are attached, other than one drive that would be the macOS installer.
That's your MacPro? Also temporarily remove the other internal drives, so only the boot drive is installed.
That should do it.

Whichever Mojave 10.14.6 installer you can download TODAY will have all the latest supplementals within.

If you still have an El Capitan full installer. . . install that on a different SSD formatted to APFS.

Then put the Mojave full installer in the El Capitan's Applications folder.

Now it should install normally.

Clean installs are better; no accumulated errors from prior installations.

EDIT : First, remove ANY & ALL Mac OS Mojave installers from your Applications folder.

Thanks to both @DeltaMac and @MIKX for your responses... I just wanted to report that i finally had success using the first technique of creating a bootable USB and installing from there!! It took about 45 minutes to do the install, and was worried it might be wiping my drive, but everything seemed to be good upon reboot ;)
I wasn't able to try the second method however, as I had neither the El Capitan full installer, or a spare SSD to install it on....just curious though, why El Capitan, and not say, High Sierra?
Thanks again!!

Just when I thought I had this problem solved!! 🤣 So I get in tonight and click on Software Update to see if I'm not dreaming and yes, definitely, Supplemental Update 2 was no longer there! However, it was replaced with 'Security Update 2019-001 10.14.6'...fine...I went ahead and attempted the update, it when through all the motions of downloading and then rebooting, and just like before, it was still there saying it was available?!!!? I really don't know what's wrong with my mac not being able to do updates anymore...this is driving me crazy...I hope I don't have to go through the whole process of creating a bootable usb and updating from that every time Apple puts out an update? Any ideas on what might be causing this??
Thanks as always!

You seem to have missed the point which is that you do not need to install ANY supplementals if you follow post #3

Your problem is probably that you didn't do a clean install of Mojave FULL 10.14.6 installer ( build 18G103 ) and just leave it at that. NO SUPPLEMENTALS.

ALL Supplementals will be included in this build 18G103

I suggest that you download again as per post #3 - put the full installer in your current Applications folder.

( Make sure that there are NO other Mac OS installers in your Applications folder first. )

Now install to a spare HDD connected to your internal SATA.

( before installing - copy the installer to another drive for future installations. )

Install 10.14.6 ( build 18G103 to this drive.

Don't use a USB installer this time.

You will now have a CLEAN install of Mojave 10.14.6.

Test it for a day or so.

The only further upgrades will ONLY be Security Updates.

=======================================

People moan about the hassle of having to re-install their often-used Apps, pics, movies, mail etc. in doing a CLEAN install but 10.14.6 is a a FINAL Mac OS upgrade. Those who get to the FINAL using COMBOS are possibly ending up with a mish-mash, error ridden, final Mojave.

I actually did FOUR CLEAN installs of 10.14.6 due to the numerous 10.14.6 build revisions ( Apple's fault ) and I now have an error free Mojave 10.14.6 build 18G103.

Do you follow what I'm getting at ? If you don't, I cannot help you as you will continue to experience a faulty installation.
