Running on original battery?

That keyboard looks gorgeous... Ant the power button... 🥰

If you paint a notch a not on it, you might get away as having a supercharged M1 Max.
No idea about the battery. I mainly use my laptops off charger. The batteries are just there to fill the hole.

There is such a mancave aesthetic to this photo that I can’t stop laughing (I think it’s the pesticide pump container next to the recliner that has me in stitches). Also, those pliers/cutters behind the PowerBook…
Things get moved around, tosssed out there because I don't want to deal with it and it snowballs into a giant mess. If I dedicated some real time to it I could probably have it decent in a couple of days, with all the tweaking worked out in a week.

I just have other things I want to do more.

That said - it was not always the garage for me. From Nov. 1997 (when I got married) to October 2003 my wife had her room, I had my room and we had OUR room. Then the living room, kitchen, etc. The garage had…junk. We've always rented houses - until 2018 when we bought our first house.

But in 2003 my wife decided that our son would have her room and in order to keep the peace I gave her my room and took the garage. In PHX, that means I'm not out there in the summer. And I share space with…the junk.

When my daughter was born in 2008, my wife gave her room up and now all we have is our room. She made the mistake at one point of giving me a wall in the front room (living room) and that's been held on to. Which is why you see all the pics of my screens and the desk and such.

But as I so often keep mentioning…we had a life before kids. When the son is out, she gets his room, when the daughter is out I get her room and we go back to the way it was. All that stuff in the garage comes back inside and the garage holds…junk - again.

My son just turned 18, first year of college so we're close for my wife. My daughter is 13 - I have a ways to go.

This is so cool. This one looks brand new still! Do you use it to play around or for actual production/work stuff? Also, did you get an IDE/PATA SSD or use some kind of adaptor?
I bought it for $175 off eBay in 2014 I think. I was willing to pay that price because it was replacing a series of the same model that I had been constantly replacing parts on. I wanted something that was in really good condition.

It is only when opening it the first time to swap an HD that I realized I was the first person to open it.

I use a mSATA3 to IDE adapter. They are the same size as 2.5" hard drives and designed to fit in the drive bay. You can find one of those on eBay for cheap, all with the green circuit boards. I have one of those and it didn't work. So, I paid more for one (about $25) that has the red circuit board. These types were apparently manufactured by a bunch of different companies but are no longer made. So, I lucked out when I got mine.

The SSD is a Zheino mSATA 3.

Although he didn’t mention it, you ought to give @wicknix ’s fork of TenFourFox, InterwebPPC, a go. And if you want even less of a browsing drag on your system from resource-intensive advertising, installing the add-ons uBlock Origin Legacy and uMatrix to InterwebPPC (or even TenFourFox) can help go a long way to make browsing on your PowerBook a less sluggish experience.

Over here, I’m still using my 17-inch and 15-inch PowerBook G4s (also 1.67GHz) daily (one of them, in fact, for testing experimental software). While they’re no speed demons compared alongside a Silicon Mac, they still hold their own remarkably well. Audio editing and imaging software still do quite nicely on them.
uMatrix is impossible to download with InterWebPPC as the download links never materialize...they just spin...and spin...and spin...and spin...forever....

:-(

The problem you’re running into, if you tried accessing the github page to download uMatrix (or uBlock origin), is InterwebPPC and TFF are too old to render the XHR/JS on github which displays the available items for download. What one typically sees from those browsers is a cycling ring, in perpetuity.

If you want a direct link and you’re on your InterwebPPC Mac, try this and try this. Otherwise, grab them from the links I posted back in 2021 (from which you quoted), on a more recent browser, such as an Intel box running SeaLion or even Firefox.
