Picked up a S6 Tit, returned it after it got scrached in 1 hour not even on my wrist. Still loving my LTE S4 Space grey!

Series 4 40mm here, battery has taken a turn for the worst. One day it was at 85% health and then quickly jumped to 75%.

It’s reaching the “won’t last a day” threshold everyone is dreading with older watches and ending the day at 10-20% @10pm. Otherwise, speed, responsiveness and even the sensors + speakers and mics still works like day 1. Couldn’t say the same for my Series 0 (battery bloating and broken mic by EOL).

Sucks but am waiting out for the Series 7 or better yet, the 8.

My battery health is at 99%.

I still use my S4, but don’t know what the battery health is since I’m still on 6.2.8. I don’t want to lose force touch yet, so I haven’t updated even though I have a 12 Pro Max. My watch seems to last me from 7:15am until the time I get home in the evening from work. It’s usually between 30-40% by that time. Since my watch is almost 3 years old (never kept a watch beyond 2 years) I carry my charger with me along with my portable charger in case I’m going to be out later and can charge up.

Watch OS 7.x has a feature in settings where you can check battery health.

My wife's apple watch magnetic charger cable overheated & melted last week (other thread on this sub-forum). Had a chance to plug in the watch to a different charger under supervision today, and the watch is at 84% health. I kind of assumed this is a normal battery health for a watch of this age... but have no idea what the health was at prior to the incident to compare.

Still on S4 for 1.5 years. 6 months down the line I got a free replacement for water damage while swimming. Glad nothing else happened after that.

previously was on S0 for 3 years. Had upgraded to s4 when Apple stopped OS upgrades on S0, might do the same with s4.

My S4 SS gold has been my #2 watch since I got it, being more of a dressy watch than what I wear most days. I don't plan to change that for the foreseeable future unless Apple does such a redesign that it looks totally dated and out of place. Otherwise it works great and runs all the apps and especially the health tracking that I am interested in.

I’m still with the S4 SS SB. I had a S6 and returned it because it wasn’t much of a difference, other than AOD and the blood oxygen sensor. I’m going to wait and see what the S7 has.

My wife and I have both have the S4 with LTE. I usually end my day 30-40%, same as when it was new. I have no idea why, but I wasn't in any rush to upgrade this year. I haven't even upgraded my phone this year which is rare for me. Maybe I'll be tempted by the S7, but for now, my S4 is fine.

Edit: I just checked and my battery health is still @ 99%, first week of March will be 2 years since I got it.

Series 3 here... Used for tracking exercise, messages, I have audible and vibration notifications going off many times a day, wear all night, and I get two days of use per charge. Presuming the AOD is the battery drain difference maker. If I ever wear that battery down to where I have trouble getting through a day without charging, I'll upgrade. Until then, very happy with it.

I said the same thing as well. The jump from the S4 to the S7 should be noticeable and I’m even thinking of buying SS this year since I’m more than likely going to upgrade my watch every 3-4 years. I’ll get my money’s worth that way.

Can you get out of my head please. I was thinking the same exact thing. My wife and I both have S4's and I'm thinking Santa may just be good to us this year... ;)

My son has an S4 and my wife and i have S5's. We will be keeping ours for a few years. It's just cost effective. Besides the S6 really does not have that much more than our watches.

I didn’t have any plans to update mine but about 4 days ago the watch turned off and wouldn’t charge. It finally charged after a full 3 days on the charger. Although now the phone lasts only about 4 hours on a charge. I have rapid battery drain. :(

Anyone know what might have caused this and how to fix it? I did order a new 6 but would prefer to fix my 4 if I could.
I've had battery problems on my s4 with my last three outdoor bike rides. I normally only do about 40K but the watch has suddenly died on me after about 20k. When I get home it says there's only 10% battery left (even though it was fully charged before setting out) and it then shoots up to 90% charge in no time at all when I put it back on the charger. It loses charge much quicker during the day too now.

Still on Series 4 and find no reason to upgrade at this time. Slimmer watch? Maybe. More functions? Maybe. But Series 4 is solid and battery is everything I need for Strava and Gymaholic. Hoping Series 7 will have some WoW factor to think about an upgrade.

Also still rocking Series 4 (my first AW). Amazingly the battery health is 90% (I purchased it month after release). I won’t upgrade until it dies, but definitely gonna continue using AWs in the future as they are pretty great accessory.

I am still using the series 4 and probably will keep it for a while. Anyone else doing the same? Besides a few new apps what’s the big difference between the 4 and 6?

AOD. Slightly faster. A watch, or really any Apple device, shouldn’t be swapped out every one or two years if you value your cash. I went from a AW 0 to a 5. Won’t upgrade for at least 3-4 years.

Gonna keep the 4. I bought a new digital camera instead and I had not upgraded since 2009 there.
