    Default apps like:

    Messages
    Notes
    Game Center
    Mail
    Music
    iBooks (not stock app)
    iTunes U (not stock app)

have the search bar integrated in them. When you swipe down it appears and is usually hidden unless you swipe it.

Just wondering why Apple doesn't incorporate this into more of its apps like iTunes, App Store, Youtube, etc.

It could make searching a little bit easier and allow them to put another option where a dedicated search space would be. Like how iTunes it has a category called search, but wouldn't it be easier if you could just swipe down and access the search bar anywhere?

True, but Spotlight Search (the home screen furthest to the left) can be set up to search almost all the native apps ... or only selected apps. Settings > General > spotlight search ... check off the ones you want AND you can drag/drop the individual listings into whatever order you want them to appear in search results!!

Once you get used to using this, you don't bother opening an app and then searching.
