I have been using the stock mail app for my main email and I am noticing not all my emails are showing up. I am going on a trip and want things saved so I don't have to have a bunch of printouts in my purse. I made a folder just for these emails and they show on my laptop but not on this app. Is there a reason? Should I download a different app?

What do you mean?! The stock email app shows everything provided you have the correct settings.

It always did before. Now it doesn't. I can see the emails and folders on my laptop but not on the mailbox configured to my iphone X. The folders are empty

Is it possible that in your email account list you turned some of these accounts off?

In the list, on the top right is an "Edit" button…

If you tap on that you get a list of your accounts and checkboxes that either cause them to show or not show…

I'm really only aware of this myself because one of the people I work with has more than once come rushing up to me to tell me her email has disappeared on her phone. In her fumbling she managed to do what I just described and uncheck the email account from being viewed.

I keep wanting to utilize the third party gmail app. However, I keep coming back to the stock app, as it functions ok and works with Siri, etc...

I am hoping gmail label support and some additional features will come in a future edition.

I've been using the stock email app on iOS and MacOS with Gmail (and others) for years and never had a problem. I've tried quite a few apps that offered more functionality but they've always failed in some basic way.

Maybe try removing the account in the Settings app and then adding it back?

iOS also has a setting where you can have it hide emails past a certain date. Not sure where that is located exactly in later versions of iOS. But the default I think it something like 3 days. After that it stops showing you older email.

That's pretty much all I can think of…

One of the bugs I have with the stock app. I use Gmail stock app and have had no issues.

I also use Polymail Pro for my oddball lesser used accounts. Works well.

how many email addresses do you use on a regular basis?!

Well…a lot. :D

I have a handful of domains, plus a few free email accounts. And two of those are my son's email accounts (to keep track of what he sends and receives).

And that's that I've cut back in recent years by getting rid of some free email accounts that I just didn't use or that were restrictive enough that my usage of them wasn't justified.

Erm... Suspicious activities!
LOL!

No, just an email collector.

Some, such as my Yahoo account allow aliases. That's useful to get other more desirabe addresses that aren't ordinarily available.

For instance, youngren@ymail.com isn't something I can go and directly sign up for. But because of my basic Yahoo address I have it.

Believe it or not, I'm not the only eyoungren out there and certainly my last name is less rare than I once assumed.

Also…Apple's option to allow you to have different iCloud addresses (me.com, icloud.com, etc) allow me to use multiple devices for iMessage while having replies directed to that specific device. While iMessage is synced across all my devices it lets me use some of them that do not have cellular connections or phone numbers.
