Do any of you guys use your Mac (Macbook, iMac, doesn't matter) for trading stocks? What app do you like most? There are some free ones available now; I wonder if there are any good for Mac OS X.

You're right. Robinhood is an app for iOS, but on Mac OS, Etrade is via their website. Which ones do you guys prefer?

Can you!? That's great! It thought I would have to only do it on my iPhone. Macbook is much better. Bigger screen, easier to do research.

Hey Lou. Thanks man! So, zero commission trades and no fees, is that essentially as good a deal as Robinhood, but a better service in your view?

Ah. Well, for day trading, it seems Fidelity is more conservative. A Non-Pattern Day Trade account requires a minimum of $5,000 in margin equity. ... This requires a minimum margin equity plus a cash balance of $25,000 in the margin account at all times. The Pattern Day Trader designation will only be removed if there are no day trades in the account over a 60-day period.

^^^^Yep, I have a an account with Fidelity and use my own funds to trade.

Lou

Robinhood charges a 75. account transfer fee. Is that to transfer any money out of your account back to your bank? That would be steep! Or is it if you transfer to another brokerage? (that I would see as fair enough)

Another brokerage and if you ask the other brokerage sometimes they will cover that fee

there is no fee moving funds between a brokerage and your bank outside of any tax losses/gains

Excellent. Thank you. I'm interested in the best online broker (eTrade, Robinhood, etoro, etc) for day trading and more short term focused swing trading. It seems like a nice feature of Robinhood is the ability to buy fractional shares.
