i've just set up the stocks widget in Lion so that it shows my list of investments.

Problem is, when I log out and log back in to OSX, the widget reverts back to the default list of companies, with mine right at the very bottom.

Is there something I need to do in order to make it display just my selections?

This is probably caused by the stocks widget's preference file (plist) not being writable. This is very easy to fix, once you find the offending file - it's in Users -> username -> Library -> Preferences (if you're running Lion Library is hidden, but Go To Folder can take you there), and called widget-com.apple.widget.stocks.plist (Odd file name, yes - Apple's choice, not mine). Once the file has been located, perform a Get Info on it, and see if the permissions on it say "You can read and write". If they don't, then there's your problem.

I've checked the permissions on that file but it already has read and write for my account.

Also tried removing and re-adding the stock widget.
