Seems like it's still powered on as you can see its location. You refer to the "Pending" status, right? Let's hope for the best you get it back again!

I doubt it but the location is showing from the day it was taken 27th location isn't updating anymore

lost mode is pending to take its not got to the iPad yet with it being a wifi only

Yes it’s probably switched off. It’s really hard to reset iOS devices these days without knowing iCloud password.

Defo and passcode FaceID TouchID needed to power a idevice off

Last bit wouldn't help. Shove comes to push just take the device where it's out of range of a signal and wait for the expedited battery drain to kick in as it hunts for 4G. 5-10 hours later, one powered off iDevice.

Even then when it turns on it will ask for passcode. It’s really difficult to unlock an iOS device without having the iCloud details.

Ah, the most pickpocket thieves in the world - Barcelona.

While there, I walked around with a Pacsafe backpack that had steel mesh lining to prevent the slashers from slicing open your bag. It saved me big time after I got home, I noticed there were slash marks on the bottom of the bag material but the pickpockets could not get thru the stainless steel mesh.

After staying in nearby Urquinaona, I figure got slashed on the metro or the famous Las Ramblas.
So after I got back home, PacSafe took it back and replaced it at no cost.
Worth every penny!

Luckily I’ve never been pick pocketed in Barcelona and I’ve been there loads of time.

With Checkrain and some ssh commands, it’s actually pretty easy to iCloud bypass on and up to 13.2.3.

Really?! I haven’t been in the jail break game for a very long time but if the phone was not originally jail broken then how do you get root access without knowing the password?! Can you point me to any link please?

Q: I lost my passcode. Can checkra1n decrypt my data or get access to a locked device?
A: No.
I though you could checkrain to bypass icloud? Put device in DFU inject checkrain get to activation screen, inject iCloud bypass and boom, your in?

The bypass doesn't get around a passcode, it deletes the setup app on a restored fresh device so you can get to the springboard. The device is still iCloud locked but you can install apps and use it in a semi limited way. Cellular and iCloud don't work on a bypassed device. 13.2.3 is ideal.

after getting the iPad stolen
went out and bought a refurb 12.9 256GB cellular IPP 2 from Apple

Figured if one is released in March I will still get top end money for it with having 10 - 11 months warranty on it. if no release I be good to go until the next gen is

Another benefit of cellular iPads. ;)

Nope, the device can be switched off easily, or put into airplane mode or have the sim removed. Besides the OP is in a foreign country and might have cellular service deactivated anyway to avoid roaming charges.

That's why I don't understand why people even try to steal them now. For parts?

Most thief's aren't tech savvy and probably don't get the icloud lock concept. Same goes for most people who aren't necessarily thiefs but just happen to find one. They don't return it thinking they can use it only to find out they can't no matter what they try.... But by then its too late.

This should be a matter that needs to be brought to the authorities and not to fan-forum of set brand. I hardly doubt anyone can give you any good tips in such matter.
