No joke...take the SIM card tray out of the phone and run it over with a car so it stops working. No way of identifying it at apple
How do you figure?
Apple doesn't owe you anything. AC+ is a warranty not a loss or theft recovery program. If you had the phone and it was damaged then Apple would honor it's comittments under the program, either as a warranty repair/replacement or an ADH incident.
Nowhere in the terms is Apple obligated to replace a lost or stolen phone. You aren't "wasting" anything.
I think you misunderstand. My daughter got a new iPhone a few months ago. It was just stolen. Now I feel like my money was wasted, because I paid for Apple Care, but only had the phone for a few months, not 2 years. Now, just a few months later, I'm buying another new phone, at full purchase price, and I will spend another $99 on Apple Care. So, I have the same feelings of wasted money. If the phone was stolen after the 2 years, I would not even think about the old Apple Care that was never used.
I just read in another thread that they may refund unused portion for a stolen phone. I'm going to call Apple Care tomorrow, fingers crossed.
Apple care is a warranty service, Asurion is a device replacement. The two overlap a bit, but Asurion will replace a faulty and stolen device. Maybe you should get insurance.
No, I didn't misunderstand, although it seems the OP and maybe some others have. As already, mentioned AC+ is a warranty service, not insurance.I think you misunderstand.
