Hey guys,

I recently got my :apple: iPhone stolen (and yes i know it's stolen not lost) and i didnt record the IMEI. The thief would have obviously taken out the sim card. Is there any way that my provider can block the IMEI even though i don't have it?

if you still have the iphone 4 box then your imei code is there

Well first of all it's an iPhone 3G and no the box has been thrown away :(

I'm thinking this is most likely the fact. Even if you knew your IMEI most carriers don't have the resources to do anything about it - even blocking it, which in all honesty I find to be pathetic - but that's besides the point. Sorry man.

Not 100% true. They have the resources but not all operators implement blocking as a policy. This is what's really pathetic.

I guess it would be an invasion of privacy though... Oh well there goes an almost new iPhone :( Thanks anyway guys :)
