stolen iphone wait or but 3gs?

i was in the gym today and it vanished. i had a 3g and was gonna upgrade this summer and sell mine. i could get a 3gs and ugrade then sell it in the summer but id still only get 300 for the 3gs and it would probably be 500 to upgrade to the new one. so you guys think i should wait two months or go 3gs and sell it in the summer?

since the new iphone comes out this summer

or if you wanted a 3gs, it will drop in price to like $100 i bet
 
Totally understand it's a right royal pain in the butt to have to wait, but I reckon you'd be mad to buy a 3GS right now.

Cheapo phone to tide you over, then no hassle to sell a 3GS etc nearer the time.

I have had my 3G since launch day, and I am sat waiting now for the summer. Been busy telling all the smug 3GS owners that the "S" simply stands for "stop-gap", with the real new handset coming this year.

Do what I did: Ask EVERYONE. Friends and friends of friends and the internet if they have a phone. Even offer to fix it if its broken to get a phone. DONT get stuck for 2 years.
 
so if i get a cheap phone would i have to sign another contract

If you get one from an AT&T store at a discounted price, yes. You could get a pre-paid phone and just have them activate it on your line, or get one off ebay or elsewhere.

If you walk into ATT and get a new phone you will sign a two year contract and get a discount on a new phone. That's how it's done by default.

Only way around this is to buy a phone with the non-contract price, which is expensive for any phone, even the cheap ones. Those $50 and less price phones are because of the 2 year contract discount. They are normally in the $150 and up range.

I say shop for a used phone on craigslist or ebay to get you by for a few months until the next gen iPhone is released. You could probably land a cheap phone that works just fine to get you through the next few months.
 
Buy a $30 GO Phone and wait for the new Iphone to come out! I work for AT&T and its EASY. No Contract, No Hassels. Just go into walmart or bestbuy and pick up one of those round boxes and then go to att for a simcard and then have them take your $30 feature off so you dont have to pay for something you're not using!!!!! :D:D:apple:

How's this: I have a GoPhone and would have no problem sending it out to you to hold you over til the summer. Pay the shipping costs and it's yours.
