my ipod touch 4 was stolen recently and i was wondering if there was anything i can do? i have it registered with mobile me but its off so its not tracking it. im wondering if the thief wipes the memory will it erase my ability to track it and if so is there any other way to track it? can he use itunes if he wipes it or can i track him some how with the special number it has?

The only way to track it is using Find My iPhone, which I guess is what you've been using since you mentioned Mobile Me. I'm pretty certain that if they wipe the iPod then you won't be able to track it at all.

ok thanks. what about the serial number. if they log the wiped phone into itunes will it be flagged? does itunes automatically get the ipods SN so i can possibly get it back or will they be able to use itunes?
