Well I had me iPod touch stolen about a week ago. Until now I wasn't just sure if I had misplaced it or not, but now I know for a fact that it has been stolen.

In my GMail account I received and Email from "Pinger Textfree", a service that allows for free texting on an iPod touch. The Email shows that someone has been texting from the application on my iPod touch.

My question is (and I apologize if I'm being ignorant):

Is there anything that I can do to track down me iPod? Is there any way of notifying Apple of its stolen status? Can I talk to the police about the text email to be used to track it down?

Thanks in advance,

I think the first thing you should do is change every password in every application that requires a network connection.

Or, cancel those accounts.

As for getting it back, I think that's not going to happen. I've read other threads here that have discussed this and I've not seen anything conclusive about resolving this.
