That's really not a cost effective way to steal cc numbers, but it's probably worth canceling cards you used on line.

Some people steal laptops all the time and tend to keep what they find on the HDD/SSD. They can get stuff like SS numbers , credit numbers , etc. as long as it is stored on the HDD/SSD in a way that can be retrieved (e.g. saved password list).

I hope so too. I understand how bad people can feel by not only losing an expensive thing but having other people go through their personal stuff.

If you have insurance either home owner's or renters it would not hurt to call them and ask if there's anything they can do for coverage. Worst case is they say sorry

It's not like someone broke into his car or ran up to him and took his backpack.

stealing and robbery are different

unfortunately any alternative ways to track it would of required a program to be installed on the Mac first.

they also dont make it easy to track computers like that because you could track people for the wrong reason also if it was that easy
