Hello all. I'm new to this. I have a question. So someone stole my old Iphone 6 plus. If they jailbreak it, is all my info, apps etc still on the phone? Or does it completely erase?

Is the iPhone secured? Why would someone think to Jailbreak it? Most who steal iPhones, likely Have the intention of selling it.

You're probably thinking that to get access to your iPhone all someone needs to do is jailbreak it. But, that's putting the cart before the horse.

In order to jailbreak a device you need to already be able to fully access the phone (i.e, you cannot jailbreak a device from the lockscreen).

This being the case, the thieves would already have access to your apps/data by virtue of having gotten past the lockscreen and there would be no need for a jailbreak.

Sorry I'm using the wrong terminology. I guess it's not jailbreaking. I did have a passcode on it. I meant is there anyway for the thieves to get any info, look at pics etc?

Also if you had Find My iPhone on you could potentially locate it and/or remote wipe it.

I did not have Icloud set up yet.

Only if they know an exploit.

If Find My iPhone was not on when it was stolen then they can simply restore the device (via DFU mode) and go from there. That will mean your data is wiped, but they will have a usable phone until it's blacklisted.

Thank you very much sir! It was deactivated a couple days before it was known stolen. No need to blacklist then, correct?
