STOP iTunes from automatically streaming to Apple TV

Hi,

I have this annoying issue where when I play a video podcast it automatically starts trying to stream to apple tv instead of launching within itunes on the mac. its so annoying. How can I stop this or unpair my apple tv from my mac?😕

Right next to the volume bar in the upper left you will find the airplay button. Click on that and select your computer instead of the TV.

Thanks for the reply! I do that but it only stays like that for that video. Everytime I start a new one (or later in the day the same one) it tries apple tv again and restarts the video from the beginning. So frustrating.

Oh that's not cool.

I know this is dumb and insulting but I have a ton of iTunes issues and this usually does it for me -- reboot the machine.

I have also fixed oddities by turning match on and off again.

I had this happen once and I unplugged the Apple TV from power went to iTunes and played a movie. Because the Apple TV was no longer on line, it played the movie in iTunes. I plugged the Apple TV back up and never had this issue again.
