Stop iTunes from copying Apps to computer!?

Is there a way to stop iTunes from copying Apps from my iPad2 to my computer!?

I'm synching my iPad2 to my Macbook Air and I am short on hard drive space as it is. I can't allow all the storage to be used up just for iPad apps.
