    Hey.

I find this is worth doing to stop itunes from upgrading your phone or accidentally upgrading.. (if you set a jailbreak up for a friend who might not be wise to JB's... worth doing this to them!)

Download FWChanger from Cydia and set custom firmware, then reboot

i set mine to 3.1.3 and i used build 7E18.

For those who dont know what this prog does, basically it just changes the number of your firmware, and nothing else (as far as i know), so itunes picks it up as your running latest firmware (when really you are not!)

Now itunes says my software is up to date! :D

I don't get it. Why not just dismiss the message and ignore the update?

But if they don't know not to upgrade, they don't know to do this!

Well i done this on my fiancees and my
mates phone a few days ago, they arnt that tech savvy and loosing an unlock would be a pain. If it doesnt help you then fair enough, but it might help some people.

Plus i dont like having the 'update' button in itunes, even when ive dismissed the download options... But thats prob OCD on my part :)

I just clicked the "Don't remind me again" box.

    Works for me.

Well that has a huge downside.

If you don't sync regularly, the inevitable crash and you will loose everything (pictures, contacts, etc)

That's a can of worms that you really don't want to open around here.

It's also against forum rules, if I'm not mistaken.

Meh. I tend to give less credence to posts by Demi-Gods. I mean, TheSpaz is one for Pete's sake.

LOL.... I want my $25 back...

Demi just means we like to support the site and I've been doing so for 4 years. If by supporting the site it helps in a small way to its day to day running, for the amount of time, help and enjoyment you can get from here its well worth supporting imho.

If your talking about credence to posters, I tend to look at post count, join date and post overview. Most often the troll type posters, because you usually end up finding that your suspicions are confirmed.

post count is not correlated to anything except for how many posts a person has

Yes, but as he said, when combined with join date and post overview I think you have some overall good indicators of a worthwhile member. No one believes post count alone means anything.
