secretly, I want my kid to have an Xr. He had some phones I need to sell bc I said I was going to before he got another phone. I really want an Xr because it is colorful. His school phone is a 6s which is probably what he should carry but it has a flaw on the screen and though the battery was just replaced, it still doesn’t have amazing battery life. He hasn’t asked for a better phone...he has a 7 plus and an se I need to sell. He has a X that he keeps at home that was his Xmas present and he uses it on Wifi. Tell me not to get him an Xr. He can’t activate his X bc it is on Att and his line is with Verizon right now.

OP you know that you just want to spend the money and get he XR on day one.

Just make it happen.

I've wasted my time reading this nonsense and I still don't understand what you are trying to do so I'll try to keep my answer short.

As he already has various phones (and a iPhone X he can't activate yet), just buy him the Xr as well. Sounds like you are going to anyway and to be frank I don't give a crap how you waste your money.

Or, try to be a better parent and instead of wasting money on phones no one needs, use the money elsewhere. Travel, take him to places & learn & experience things together instead of providing more ways for him to stare at a screen all day. You have your priorities all wrong.

What is YOUR current phone? Also why is his X an AT&T phone if his line is with Verizon?

I was going to suggest giving your phone to him as a hand me down to replace whatever beat up phone he’s taking to school, and getting the Xr you want for yourself. But I haven’t had my coffee yet and I’ve got an hour of chores to get through before I get my coffee.

So I’m just going to exit right now with the tattered remnants of my sanity. I’ve got a lot of phones myself, so I’m not judging you, but I’m hella confused right now.

I thought this thread was going to be more along the lines of...well I don’t know what I thought really. I sometimes hop on here first thing when my alarm goes off on days I’m having a hard time hopping out of bed with my usual energy.

I’ll just tell you lately we just trade old Samsungs in to Samsung for discounts on new ones and old Apple products in to Apple for discounts on new iPhones and watches. It helps keep costs manageable. My husband used to sell on EBay but that’s a viper pit now. Good luck to you.

OP, it is not hard to sell a phone. You’re in the U.S. Sell all of them on Swappa. It is safe and easy. Don’t waste your time selling in person. I listed my iPhone 8 on there two days ago and it sold within 2 hours of me listing it. I keep my phones mint, sounds like at least 1 of yours has issues, but throw them all up on there and they should sell assuming you’re realistic about what they are worth. Buy the Xr and get on with life.

Please help me MacRumors.

I am thinking about ordering an Xr.

I already have a 6s in my front (left) pocket, 7+ in my front (right) pocket, and an SE in my back (left) pocket.

It's just too hard sometimes to reach those pockets. I think I need a new phone for my back (right) pocket. I also have an iPhone 5s as a nightlight on my bedside table, but it has a minor scuff that's only viewable under a microscope, so it's basically useless.

Please stop me from ordering!

This is fairly simple to decipher.

She wants a new phone but can’t make the decision on her own, she needs people like us to justify her purchase.

The excessive number of phones her son has bears nothing on the question and is just bragging. Has nothing to do with what she wants and there was no reason to include it in the question.

If she wants a new phone for herself, only she can make that decision and stand by it/justify it to whose ever she has to.

ACT and SAT scores are way down especially math.

This OP is a microcosm. Buy your kid education / tutors / books instead of flashy shiny bling bling.

U.S. kids are turning into idiots (generally speaking).

Are you talking about my kid who has 103% in his math class and helps tutor fellow students at lunch? He also plays club soccer and should be on the honor roll this term. Just because I want an extra phone doesn’t mean I am a useless parent. :insert eye roll.

Why would I brag on a faceless post? I am the least braggy person. I’m a mom who wears no make up, Who doesn’t dress in flashy clothes, and couldn’t care less about impressions. I love assumptions. I love tech stuff. Sorrynotsorry if you are trigger by my desire to buy an extra phone.

Off to decide if I am ordering tonight or not.
