Stop remote from working ... can i do this ?

my iMac is to close to my apple tv and when i use it to access mt apple tv it is starting my imac... lol


since i dont use the remote control for my imac can i shut it down ?

is there an option to do this

System Preferences -> Security -> obvious checkbox (a.k.a., "Disable remote control infrared receiver")

You can also pair the Apple Remotes so each remote only works with one or the other.
