Stop Windows from re-opening when turning Mac back on???

The Mac App store along with Safari, and iTunes all like to just start when I turn my computer back on, despite closing them before I turned it off. How do I make it so NO apps pop up when I start my computer?

well did u uncheck the "reload apps on start up" window when u turned it off?

Right click / ctl-click the app on the dock, select Options, make sure Open at Login is un-checked.
