Seems to happen every year. Developers and people who just like to tinker under attack because they are critical of an Apple beta.

I have seen numerous posts asking developers to name what app they work on, state their real name, and other attacks that are borderline doxing. Note that any developer who is not a solo indie will usually not say what app they work on because they know their opinions should not represent their company and they can be terminated for representing their company in a non-PR approved posting.

I have also seen a lot of critical reaction to Apple’s AI rollout and UI design choices receive attacks that boil down to telling people they don’t belong in a beta because it is only for developers. That they “should have known better.” These “holier than thou” attacks serve no purpose. It’s childish and seems to be about devaluing opinions and bullying people out of threads.

It is okay to not like Apple’s decisions. It’s okay to think they should do better. It’s okay to get into problems with your phone and want a place to rant about it. And it’s definitely okay to test a beta without passing a bunch of certifications or racking up a certain amount of downloads of your app.

All are welcome… except bullies.

Yeah people get a little crazy about things. We don’t need to be doxing anyone real life because of a disagreement with their opinion

Unfortunately a lot of people have formed an unhealthy relationship with Apple. I would call it a "parasocial relationship" like you'd have with "influencers", but Apple isn't technically a person.

That means whenever you say Apple has done something bad, or that you disagree with, those people feel like it is a personal attack, and they defend it as such.

You have people that do the exact same thing if you say anything good about Apple.

Either way people need to control their emotions.

very cool. I wonder how many people truly understand what it's like to be bullied? The last five years of my job I was harassed constantly by high-level people in the company. It got so bad that when my immediate supervisor refused to falsify my annual review, he was fired! I have never heard of anything so obscene. Meanwhile, when I go into my medical record history I see tit for tat that if I look for an email where I'm trying to get people to lay off of me and I get the date of that email exchange that I can go into my medical records and show that within a Week of that debacle I was in the hospital! Now, we all like to play the little troll from time to time. But if you go through your day and you bump into *******s every time you turn around, let's face it, we just get worn down. So please try to control your inner control and I thank you

Perhaps, while others truly enjoy most of what Apple creates and are taken back by the constant bashing. It works both ways and I agree that we should be able to voice our opinions in a civil manner. Keep both positions in mind and things will improve.
