Can we make any comment about the storage medium for future iMacs?

Is it foreseeable for iMacs in the near future to only come with SSD storage?

Will Fusion Drives ever be not be an option?

Absolutely no doubt that will happen eventually. Fusion drive is and always was a transition technology, its existence necessitated by the high cost of pure SSD storage only.

We already see Apple moving away from it in favor of 1 TB+ SSDs on the more expensive iMac Pro, and that space is now being used for a larger cooling system to handle the extra heat.

We'll still have Fusion drives in the future, with Optane RAM for the fast, expensive part and SSD for the slow, high capacity part.
