Hi friends! This is my first post, but I've had TONS of questions answered here through the years.

I just bought a new MacBook Pro Retina 13" last night and had a question regarding the storage. Does anyone know if the storage is upgradable? I've upgraded other MacBooks in the past. If it's not upgradable, what external HD do you recommend?

Thanks!

Nope. You should've researched this prior to buying methinks.

As to which hard drive I'd recommend? The one that fits your needs and budget and has a good warranty. A hard drive's a hard drive.

It is replaceable, but there aren't 3rd party replacement parts available. It's basically not upgradeable because of this.

I've had good luck with WD external drives.

I bought a Samsung Evo 850 250gb SSD for $100 & a $20 USB 3.0 UASP off Amazon and get pretty good read/write speeds. For less than $150 delivered. Definitely what I recommend for FAST external storage.
