It's really odd that up until yesterday the site would at least let you check nearby stores for availability. Now it won't even let you look. I also received a phone call from a rep at Hermès canceling my appointment tomorrow to pick one up, because according to her they hadn't received any shipments (she did say that they were out of the Series 6 models though). Kind of leads me to believe there won't be any in-store pick up options which is kind of a bummer.
I’ve been wondering the same, too. I really wanted a stainless steel watch this year but the delivery date was set for November right off the bat. I ended up ordering a starlight aluminum but I’m hoping I can find a SS tomorrow at any of my local stores.
Is it true that what is available on the Apple website will accurately reflect what is available in the actual shop on the day? I have just been advised not to bother showing up for anything if it doesn’t show stocked on their website. Now just hoping at some point maybe something will show up on the site.
That’s good to hear. At least saves me a trip. These guys seem convinced there is no stock of certain ones so I guess the only point of going today would be to see what we want to later order.
in fact yesterday there was not a single watch available for collection and this morning some specific models have become available in some specific shops. It is clear that they have received the backorders, and have used the cancellations and extras they have received to update their stock application which must be linked to the online shop.
Not in my experience….. a certain amount of stock is made available for walk in customers certainly in the early days of a release … this is especially so in larger and flagship stores even though online availability is low. Whether it’s worth a long journey to take that chance is debatable. Store allocations and online stock have always seemed independent to me. Although one is a general guide of the other.
You will probably find stock is store and market dependant ….. Ive shopped in London and Dubai and they’ve certainly had SS and Ti models previously for walk in.
Usually, I notice it updates around 8 am eastern though not sure if that's a set rule
So just walked into Apple store in Reading Oracle ( UK ) and I was able to buy a stainless steel. They seem to have most models apart from titanium
You’ll notice on the Apple Store app that for other products, such as the iPhone 13, the button says “BUY” but for the new watch it says “ORDER NOW”.
I assume that at some point this morning it will change to “BUY” and that’s when we’ll start seeing the inventory that’s available at local stores.
I can confirm that another UK store (Bristol Cribbs) had SS available for walk-ins, but no Ti or Hermes. Wouldn't let me pick my own band though - had to be either Starlight SB or SS Milanese.
Orders are live now! I just scored a graphite SS for pickup today at my local store!
I only see SS available at our stores. Wish iStock still worked, as sure was a lot easier to check inventory.
I wish they made it easier to see what was available in store instead of having to go through all of the different watch/band combos
The combos are proving to be a mess. They need to just sell the watches with a redemption voucher so that you can pick your band at your own leisure.
