I'm curious. Are those iPads apple employees use in store they're own iPads or are they store iPads? I ask as employees seem to have different iPads, cases etc.

It would seem logical to ask an apple employee next time you're in the store.

I would assume that they belong to the store since they have appointment and diagnostic software on them.

They probably use different models and accessories as a way to show the different products that they offer.

They're all store iPads. They'll often vary based on availability. As a result, you typically see iPad 2's though you'll occasionally see a fourth generation.

They belong to the store. There is a drawer in the middle of the store full of them.
