I was in the middle of placing an order and took too long, and the option to pickup a new watch is now gone. It was showing availability for all of the stores in range. Does anyone know if it comes back up, or is it just up to chance of walking in now?

I would check https://www.istocknow.com, but there is a really good chance it just sold out

Yeah, definitely a chance, but I was looking at two different configurations that both showed availability at every store in range. They both went down at the same time. Seems more likely they pulled the option for them for walk-ins but I am just trying to figure out if it comes back as it's a two hour drive.

It's up and running today. That's how I was able to order online for the Watch S5. It's possible that your apple store had limited stock and someone else grabbed it before you and thus changes to no longer available for store pick up. But you can try your luck walking in. They usually set a side small quantity for in-store pick ups, and the rest is for walk ins.
