Does anyone know if it will be possible to select store pickup and do an iPhone Upgrade Program when you pre-order? I'm already preapproved for the iUP, but I'd much rather just pick it up in store than have it shipped.

Not sure I understand, but in the Apple Store app on my iPhone I select my device, and then select iPhone Upgrade program which prompts me to be pre-approved for the iUP, which I am, but what I want to know is come pre-order time, will I be able to select in-store pickup instead of ship-to-home and be able to pay with the iPhone Upgrade Program.
Usually it gave you the option to pick up in store and select a time to pick it up (if any devices were available) or ship it.
This answer is correct. When you go to preorder your device you'll have the option to do a store pickup or have it shipped.
Yes, at the time of the pre-order, if the option is available, you can select in-store pick up and choose the time you are going to be picking it up. I will likely do in-store pick up as well as then I can just trade in my 8 Plus without any issues and not have to worry possibly having issues with them not receiving it.
Oh that's a good point too. Can you trade in for part of the cost of the iPhone and then use iUP for the rest?
IF you are currently on iUP and upgrading, you will need to turn it in and they close out your old loan and open a new loan with the new device.
Plus I'm not sure of how that works if this is your first time. You may need to have a chat with Apple or visit the apple store and talk to them about it?
I am flying to LA from Germany next Saturday. Could I like try to pre order it tomorrow for pick up next Sunday or does it have to be at the day they suggest?
It doesn’t have to be the day they suggest. You can pick it up any day before the 14 day is up.
Awesome. And I don’t get charged and can cancel until it is actually available for pick up?
I will be in Honolulu for 6 days afterwards and their sales tax is even lower so I could potentially try to preorder for pick up at the Waikiki Apple Store
If that’s where you are going why not just set the zip code there and do in store pick up at that location? Typically Apple will charge your card the night before launch day for in store pick up.
