iPod touch Stores selling old models?

Target is still selling 16/32/64 when Apple is selling 32/128.

Anyone know why?

I figured Apple would take back the old stock and send them new.

Now they are out of 16gb and 64gb. Only 32gb left. So they probably are either getting rid of the touch completely or they may start carrying the 128gb.

I just thought with a huge chain like Target they would only carry the latest models

You can still buy a 2012 iPod touch 5 directly from Apple and get a manufacturers warranty on a device that cannot even be updated to close to the newest software. Apple's really dropped the ball on the iPod touch market IMO.

Yes, I find it really strange that Apple is selling refurbished 5th gen iPod Touches despite not being able to update them beyond iOS 9. I suspect that the last iPods Apple still sells will be retired soon and that will be it.
