Loved his music. RIP.
It's perhaps the least surprising death in rock music and everyone's seen it coming for the past decade, but when it actually happens, it's still extremely sad.
Very sad, but hardly a surprise. I was never a fan of him as a substance abuser, but I loved his work in music.
Sad news to hear the passing of one of my generations great voices, Scott Weiland may you rest in peace.
He was the leader of one of the greatest bands of the 90s era music, sorry to say this as most people will disagree but they were way better than Nirvana and Pearl Jam and equal to Alice In Chains.
Listening to them now and it seems unreal he's gone, what do any of you fans out there think are their three best tunes, I reckon they are;
3. Vasoline or Big Empty
RIP SCOTT Weiland
Creep, Plush, Interstate Love Song, Vasoline...all great tunes. Sad day for rock music.
Interstate Love Song has to be towards the top of any list.
not a fan of him with or without STP.
but it is sad.
i hope he has found whatever it was he was looking for... rip.
Just saw this thread. Sad to hear of his passing. I am only familiar with his music from his time with STP, but I really enjoy many of their songs.
Very sad indeed. He was great with STP, then with the few good things Velvet Revolver did. He also did an amazing turn as Hedwig, not a surprise but still very sad.
A letter from late singer’s ex-wife, Mary Weiland, on behalf of his two children. Very poignant and doesn't pull any punches.
Really liked STP and some of the other stuff he did with other bands. Like others have said, kinda saw this one coming from a mile away. Said though.
RIP Mr. Weiland.
That letter is the definition of the word "apt".
"We read awful show reviews, watch videos of artists falling down, unable to recall their lyrics streaming on a teleprompter just a few feet away. And then we click "add to cart" because what actually belongs in a hospital is now considered art." - MARY FORSBERG WEILAND
