Strange Aperture behaviour today. System crash and prefs reset...

It just happened.

Aperture crashed the system - OSX had to SLOOOOOWWWWLLLY shut down then I had to manually reboot.

Aperture opens with a welcome to aperture what's new in this version message as if new, and then opens an empty library.

I switch to my current library, but all of my prefs have changed back to default.

What gives?
