    Hey guys.

Strange problem just cropped up, Black Macbook, 10.5.8. The battery doesn't seem to be recognised by the laptop, but I'm typing on it now without the adapter so...

    See...

Before this it was still at 100% health with 50-60 cycles (around). Nothing else seems wrong, and when the adapter is plugged in it has the charging orange light and the laptop recognises it as a power source.

Repaired permissions and restarted a couple of times, no change.

Any thoughts, obvious things, advice... be great

You might try removing and reinstalling the battery, calibrating and resetting the SMC.

This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions: Apple Notebook Battery FAQ

Thanks for the reply and the info. It seems another restart solved it! I'm calibrating now and hopefully it'll play nice.
