strange black boxes on my screen

Any idea what these things are? They just started appearing, I'm weirded out.

EDIT: just noticed: the black box moves to different areas when i hit Tab.

Weird. I get blue ones when I hit tab, but not black. I do have full keyboard access enables though....

woah, you're right! I accidentally turned voiceover on.

I guess that's one problem with OSX having SO MANY shortcuts- you can accidentally hit an obscure one, and you may never know how to undo it!
