Hi all. I am using a Spigen case and I decided to take it off and give the phone a clean. On the PVD SG black coating, particularly at the bottom and around the mute button, I have what could be described as a rubbed/burnt look on the phone. It appears to have come from the case rather than debris its self. Its pretty annoying as the whole purpose of the case was to protect it and keep it in as best condition as possible.

Anything that can be used to buffer it out?

Thanks.

Last time I use Spigen.

Is it like a blueish colour? If possible can you share a picture, as it would be helpful.

Ive removed it after much googling. Yes it was blueish kinda burn. I got some baking soda, turned it into sludge with water and rubbed it with a cloth. It worked!

It sounds like your case had a chemical reaction with the finish on the space gray iPhone. Someone else had a similar experience approximately two weeks ago. If it does it again, I would not use that case any further.

Decent case manufacturers should be testing for issues like this. As you say, a case should protect the phone, not introduce defects...
