Hi everyone! I 'm having a weird problem with my new iPad 2: there's a strange sound, like static, that appears randomly, but specially when I just have turned it on or when I open my SmartCover. I've tried to put the SmartCover off the iPad (maybe a magnetic problem?) but the strange sound is still there.

Anyone with this strange behavior?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like you have a short in your iPad's speaker / sound card. It's probably trying to make the smooth "Click" sound that comes standard on the iPad whenever you turn it off or close the smart cover. Does it do it if you have the ringer switch turned off? Regardless, probably defective > return to Apple store.
